"Interesting"

Gassho Richard,

What an interesting job your daughter has. I had no idea tree climber was a job but I guess it makes perfect sense that an arborist would need to have that skill. Congratulations to your daughter. It looks like a tough competition.

My daughter goes to Berklee College of Music. She plays the banjo but has only been playing just less than 4 years so she's really been working hard at it. She looked everywhere and Berklee is about the only school in the world that has banjo as a principle instrument. She went there last summer for the 12 week semester and did so well they asked her to stay on. She got full credit for her summer semester so she just finished her 3rd semester in May and managed to make it onto the Dean's List both last summer and this spring.. so two semesters out of three ain't bad.

She's spending the summer in Boston this year but not attending classes feeling she needed the break. She's been playing and doing a bit of traveling. Last week she was visiting a friend who lives just outside Richmond, Virginia and this past weekend she and another friend drove up to the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival in Oak Hill, NY.
She has a few videos on YouTube if you're interested. http://www.youtube.com/argamoff
The most recent ones I took back at the beginning of May when they had a gig over at a little bar in Cambridge. My husband and I were driving his parents car up from Florida and timed it so that we passed through Boston for their show. It was a hectic trip arriving in St. Pete's Thursday just before noon and pulling into Boston early Saturday morning the weekend of the Marathon. We left again Sunday afternoon. We didn't dare stay longer because the hotels charge a premium on the marathon weekend. We don't get down there nearly as often as I'd like because it's cheaper for her to fly home than it is for us to fly down and stay in a hotel. I love Boston. I'm not a city person, by any means but if I had to live in a city I think I'd chose Boston.

I should show you think picture because I think it's so funny:

She and her buddies went out and enjoyed the riot following the Red Sox World Series victory since they are only about 5 minutes walking distance from Fenway. I specifically told her before hand that she should *NOT* go out and participate in the riot but secretly I hoped that she would just because of it would likely be a once in a lifetime experience. This is her sitting in a folding lawn chair with a line-up of riot police behind her as the riot was tapering down very late at night. It was taken with her cell phone so the quality isn't great but I just got the biggest kick out of it.
