"A Difficult topic"

posted by Sara

I need assistance.
I meditate everyday, get the idea of the Buddhist teachings, and I consider myself a Buddhist.
But I am having difficulty in one area.
Someone I trusted raped me in 2005. It is very difficult to apply Buddhism to what happened and to this person. I cannot feel compassion for this person and when this person comes to mind I think violent thoughts. Lately when the violent thoughts come I release them from my mind and try not to dwell on them.
But I want to feel complete peace again, like I did before the rape.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do?
